Francis appeals for Ukraine at Angelus
(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis issued a heartfelt appeal on Sunday
for Ukraine saying, “ I am following with deep concern the escalation of the
fighting in eastern Ukraine, which continues to cause many casualties among the
civilian population. As I assure you of my prayers for all who suffer, I renew
a heartfelt appeal for a resumption in dialogue and an end to all
hostilities.”
The Holy Father made the appeal following the recitation of the
Marian prayer from his studio above St Peter’s Square.
