Pope Francis entrusts his upcoming Apostolic Visit to Chile
and Peru to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Keeping up his pre-Apostolic Journey tradition, Pope Francis
made a short visit on Saturday evening to the Basilica of Saint Mary Major.
He entrusted to the Virgin Mary his Apostolic Journey to
Chile and Peru, which takes place on 15-22 January.
The Holy Father prayed silently before the ancient icon
of Maria Salus Populi Romani and placed a bouquet of flowers
on the altar below it.
