Pope Francis has sent his condolences and prayers to all
those affected by a train crash in Italy.
Pope Francis has sent a telegramme of
condolences to the families of victims of a train accident in
Italy that killed three people on Thursday.
In the telegramme signed by the Vatican
Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Pope expressed his sorrow for
the grave accident and said he participates in the grief of those affected by
the dramatic event.
Assuring his prayers and intercession for those who have
tragically died, he also said he is praying for the recovery of wounded
passengers of the rush-hour train to Milan.
13 people were seriously injured in the accident, five of
them in critical condition.
The tragedy happened when several carriages of a regional
train derailed early Thursday morning at a station outside Milan.
