Bolivian Security Forces shoot dead eight protesters,
escalating the socio-political crisis in the nation. The latest development was
discussed at a meeting between the Country`s Interim President and a United
Nations Envoy.

United Nations Director of Human Rights former Chilean
President Michele Bachelet, has described the fatal shooting incident in the
City of Sacaba, as an extremely dangerous development in the Bolivian
situation. And she`s stressing that it could deteriorate completely out of
control. The Inter American Commission on Human Rights says that excessive
force was used.
Bolivia`s Interim President Jeanine Anez has met with UN
Envoy Jean Arnault, with the aim of stabilizing the unrest, so fresh Elections
can be held within three months. Evo Morales who resigned as President on
November 10th, after the Army demanded it, is now in Mexico, which granted him
political asylum. He describes the Interim Government back home as a
dictatorship. It`s denying him the opportunity to be a candidate in the
upcoming Presidential Election, saying he`ll be put on trial if he attempts to
return.
The seeds of the problem were rooted in The Movement Towards
Socialism Party successfully challenging a referendum, barring Evo Morales for
seeking a fourth consecutive term. He won the Election, but an Organization of
Americans States Audit Team said that widespread fraud invalidated it.
