Francis sends message to Argentinian leukemia patient
(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis sent a video message to a leukemia patient from Rosario, Argentina,
on Monday morning, during the flight from Quito to Guayaquil in Ecuador.
Argentinian-born journalist Inés San Martin, who works for the
Catholic website “Crux”, recorded the message for 25-year-old Lisandro Zeno –
known as “Lichu” – who was diagnosed with the disease last year.
“Lichu, I was
told about your illness, I pray for Jesus to give you strength and that he
returns your health to you. Allow yourself to be led by God’s hand, and I ask
you to pray for me. I bless you with all my heart, in the name of the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit,” Pope Francis said.
Zeno is currently
hospitalized, and waiting on a bone-marrow transplant. A compatible donor was
recently found in Brazil, and the operation should take place in a few weeks.
