Pope Francis will visit Naples next March 21. Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe,
archbishop of Naples, announced the daylong trip, after the celebrations of the
patron saint, Januarius, on Friday.
He said said the
Pope will visit the peripheries of the southern Italian city, meet with
representatives from the worlds of work and culture, venerate the relics of the
patron saint, Januarius, speak with local clergy and lunch with prison inmates.
He will meet with the sick and spend some time with youth and lay people. The
day will conclude with a Eucharistic celebration.
