(Vatican Radio) At the end of the Mass in
Medellin, the Pope met a number Scholas Occurrentes students.
Scholas Occurrentes is an international network of schools
which was set up more than 20 years ago in Argentina by the then Archbishop
Bergoglio.
It is present in 190 countries, with nearly 450 thousand
institutes.
During the encounter the students told the Pope about their
hopes and difficulties and thanked him for inspiring an educational reality
that was so different from others.
Pope Francis in turn, thanked them for embarking
on this scholastic experience that aims to achieve harmony through education
and culture and he urged them to promote this type of education among their
peers.
Of Scholas, the Pope has said in the past, everyone has a
value. He has also said that everyone must have the same opportunities,
especially when it comes to young people who are facing life and preparing to
work in tomorrow's society.
