Pope Francis appoints Father Michel Mulloy, a priest of the
diocese of Rapid City, as the new Bishop of Duluth, Minnesota.

The Holy Father on Friday appointed Father Michel Mulloy as
the new Bishop of Duluth (Minnesota), USA.
Father Mulloy has been serving as the Diocesan Administrator
of Rapid City (South Dakota) since 2019.
Biography
Bishop-elect Mulloy was born on 20 May, 1954 in Mobridge,
South Dakota and was ordained to the priesthood on 8 June, 1979 for the Diocese
of Sioux Falls.
Father Mulloy attended Beadle and Freeman Davis Primary
School in Mobridge and Mobridge High School and O’Gorman High School in Sioux
Falls. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Humanities from Saint
Mary’s University in Winona (Minnesota) and completed his theology studies at
Saint Paul Seminary in Saint Paul (Minnesota).
His assignments after ordination include: Priest Fidei Donum
in the Diocese of Rapid City, Pastoral Vicar of Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Cathedral (1979 – 1981), and of Christ the King Parish in Sioux Falls
(1981-1983), and Administrator of Saint Joseph Parish in Faith (1983).
After his incardination in the Rapid City Diocese, he was
pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Faith (1986-1989), St. Francis of Assisi Parish
in Sturgis (1989-1992), Blessed Sacrament Parish in Rapid City (1996-2004) and
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral (2004-2016). He also served Parish Priest
of Saint Bernard Parish in McLaughlin, Assumption Parish in Kenel, Saint
Aloysius Parish in Bullhead and Saint Bede Parish in Wakpala (2016-2017).
Father Mulloy has also served as the Director of the
Diocesan Vocations Office, Diocesan Office of Worship, Member of the College of
Consultors, Vicar for the Clergy and Vicar General.
