Pope Francis appoints Ronald Hicks, Mark Bartosic, and
Robert Casey as auxiliary Bishops for the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Very Rev Ronald Hicks was born in Chicago in
1967. He went to high school at Quigley Preparatory Seminary, then Chicago’s
Minor Seminary and LATER obtained a Bachelor Degree in Philosophy from Niles College
Seminary (now called Saint Joseph College Seminary) at Loyola University. He
volunteered for a year with Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos working
with abandoned children and orphans. He was ordained a priest for the
Archdiocese of Chicago in 1994 after finishing theological studies at St Mary
of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein, IL. In 2004 he received a Doctor of Ministry
degree from St Mary of the Lake.
After ordination he has served as Pastoral Associate of Our
Lady of Mercy Parish in Chicago (1994-1996) and St Elizabeth Seton Parish in
Orland Hills, IL (1996-1999). He served on the faculty of St Joseph
College Seminary from 1999-2005. From 2005-2010 he served as Regional Director
of Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos, assisting orphans and abandoned
children in Mexico and El Salvador.
He then became a member of the faculty and then Dean of
Formation for St Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein (2010-2015). Since 2015
he has served as Vicar General for the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Rev Mark Bartosic is currently the pastor of
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish in Chicago and Director of Kolbe
House. He was born in 1961 in Neenah, Wisconsin, in the Green Bay Diocese.
After obtaining a Bachelor Degree in English Literature and Theater from
Ashland College in Ohio, he entered St Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein,
Illinois and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1994.
After ordination, Rev Bartosic has served as Associate
Pastor and Administrator St Agnes of Bohemia parish in Chicago, IL (1994-2000),
Pastor of St. Frances of Rome parish in Cicero, IL (2001-2009), and from
2009-2016 pastor of both St Frances of Rome and Our Lady of Charity parishes in
Cicero, IL.
Rev Robert Casy was born in 1967 in Chicago.
After finishing high school with the Marists, he entered Niles College Seminary
(now called Saint Joseph College Seminary) at Loyola University and obtained a
Bachelor Degree in English Literature. He was ordained a priest for the
Archdiocese of Chicago in 1994 after frequenting St Mary of the Lake Seminary
in Mundelein, IL.
After ordination he served as Pastoral Associate of St Ita
Parish in Chicago (1994-1999), Associate Director and Director of the Casa
Jesus (1998-2003) for Spanish-speaking men considering diocesan
priesthood, pastor of Our Lady of Tepeyac Parish (2003-2009), St Barbara Parish
(2009-2016), and St Bede the Venerable Parish (2017–) all in Chicago.
