The Holy See's Press Office announces that Pope Francis has
accepted the resignation of two Chilean Bishops.
Diocese of Rancagua, Chile
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the
pastoral governance of the diocese of Rancagua, Chile, presented by His
Excellency Msgr. Alejandro Goić Karmelić, for reasons of having reached the age
limit.
The Holy Father has appointed as Apostolic
Administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the
same diocese, Rancagua, Chile, the His Excellency Msgr. Luis Fernando Ramos
Pérez, Auxiliary Bishop of Santiago de Chile.
Diocese of Talca, Chile
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the
pastoral governance of the diocese of Talca, Chile, presented by His Excellency
Msgr. Horacio del Carmen Valenzuela Abarca.
The Holy Father has appointed as Apostolic Administrator sede
vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the same diocese, Talca, Chile,
the His Excellency Msgr. Galo Fernández Villaseca, Auxiliary Bishop of Santiago
de Chile.
